HELP US SAVE DIXIE AND BELLE!

Dixie and Belle are two registered quarterhorse mares who were 26 and 25 years old when we met them and are now 29 and 27 years old.  They have lived with their current owner since they were 3 and 2 years old, respectively!  They have been under the care of Buddy Rescue Foundation for three years as we have searched for alternatives to place them.  Their owner had been trying to place them for two years before approaching Buddy Rescue since she had become ill and could no longer physically or financially care for them.  She had been caring for them as best she could, but the financial stress of her illness and cost of caring for them led her to reach out to us to see if we could help.

We need your help on a number of fronts.  First, if you know of anyone who can support these two southern gals on their farm, pasture or sanctuary, please make them aware that they can do a wonderfully good deed in saving them from the horrors that plague unwanted horses in this country.  Second, Dixie and Belle could use your help in raising donations to provide continuing care for them until a suitable forever home or sanctuary can be arranged.  And finally, anyone who has any time to provide care for the daily feedings or occasional brushing and maintenance would be most appreciated.
